Dyfed Powys Police has won the Chartered Institute of Professional Development Police Forum award for Human Resources contribution to improving front line delivery for its professionalising customer services programme.

The team has also won the overall award, which was the culmination of three separate categories which included, people development and promoting equality and diversity.

The PCS programme has been developed to improve the quality of service that the police provide to customers. The delivery of the implementation phase of the programme and the impact on staff within DPP was a significant consideration of the programme.

The nomination for this award was evidenced and supported by the staff consultation plan which included, staff briefing pack, bespoke presentations and a structured process that was undertaken by the team in managing the major change programme for the force.

Further to the documentary evidence, staff who have been impacted on by the PCS programme gave testimonials of support for the way the programme had been implemented.

T/Superintendent Claire Parmenter (programme lead) said: "We are delighted to have won this award. Staff consultation has been a major consideration at every stage of this project. The project will ensure improvements for our internal staff and the communities that we serve."

The integrated approach of Human Resources and the project has enabled this success with many learning opportunities along the way.

Dyfed Powys Police has been awarded these recognised national awards due to the fundamental way it handled the change process and that is credit to the force, the project team and the staff impacted by the change.
