Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches will be holding a Dragon Cricket coaching awards night on Friday, March 3, at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, 7.30 pm prompt (doors open at 7 pm). Over 200 young players from all over the county have attended Dragon Award cricket coaching sessions recently and are invited to the awards night to receive their certificates and meet their coaches again. Light refreshments are provided and entry is free. Parents and friends are welcome. It is hoped to show a video of the 2005 Ashes Series before and after the presentations. The cricket coaching centres were at Crymych (D1 and 2), Narberth (D1 and 2), Tenby (D3), Pembroke Bush (D1 and 2), Thornton Hall (D3, 4 and 5), Haverfordwest (D1 and 2) and Fishguard (D1, 2 and 3). Courses started in early October and Dragon 5, the highest Award, concluded last Sunday. Whilst the Ashes Series against Australia generated considerable interest, the playing of Kwik Cricket, encouraged within our Primary Schools by the Sports Development section of the county council, together with the new Under 13 and Under 15 secondary school competitions sponsored by the Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches have no doubt helped recruitment.
