Congratulations to David and Meredith White on obtaining their Masters Degree, with distinction, in Fine Art and Design: Photography, at Swansea Institute, University of Wales, on Friday, July 13, at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea. Both graduates are from Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and have studied here for the past two years. Their daughter, Olivia, attended school in Tenby. David and Meredith are the son and daughter-in-law of Gaynor and Ted White, of Tenby. At the same ceremony, they were in very illustrious company as Huw Edwards, the BBC broadcaster, was granted an honorary fellowship. After receiving it, Mr. Edwards gave a very challenging and inspiring address. David recently had a photographic show at the museum in Tenby, December 2006, and will be showing at the Chapter Art Centre, Cardiff, in September 2007. Meredith won student photographer of the year upon graduation and her recent portrait of Welsh harpist Catrin Finch was selected for both the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, and National Portrait Gallery, London. They are wished every success for the future. They will take with them many wonderful memories of Tenby and their time here.
