Pembrokeshire police are reminding drivers that drink and drug driving is illegal. The warning comes after 17 people so far this month have been arrested for drink-driving in the county. Of these, 25 per cent had been involved in collisions. Inspector Gareth Thomas, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: "Drink driving is illegal at any time of the year. We tend to find when we are running high profile campaigns over the Christmas and summer periods, we don't find so many people drinking and driving. "However, it appears people think there is less chance of being caught when a campaign is not running. "We target drink and drug drivers 365 days of the year - the roads policing unit is on patrol 24 hours a day, denying criminals the use of the roads.  "Our message is simple - if you have had a drink, don't drive."
