The League of Friends of Withybush Hospital are delighted to have donated 25 dementia clocks to a selection of wards at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
There is an increasing amount of evidence which demonstrates that dementia clocks can greatly improve the independence of people who are prone to forgetfulness, or who have impaired memory.
The donated clocks display large date, day and time symbols which can help settle patients prone to forgetfulness, or who have impaired memory, in a new, unfamiliar environment.
Senior Sister Ceri Hobson from Ward 12 at Withybush Hospital said: “We have had great patient and staff feedback on the positive effects of the clocks and we are very thankful to the League of Friends for their kind donation. The League of Friends play an important role in supporting the purchase of items to improve the patient experience throughout the hospital and we are grateful for their support.”
