Plans to place 'dog bag dispensers' around Tenby are in the fold, local councillors revealed this week. Councillors have been looking into ways of trying to tackle the problems of dog fouling in the town's streets and on the beaches.
Clr. Mike Evans informed his colleagues at Wednesday's meeting of the town council that the dispensing bags could be sited at key points in the town.
"Hopefully it would encourage dog owners to clean up after their pets and also politely remind them of their obligation," explained Clr. Evans, who listed entrances to the town's beaches, the harbour, Battery Gardens, The Croft, Jubilee and also by the Leisure Centre as possible points to locate the bag dispensers.
The dispensers would cost around £90 each, with councillors suggesting that a dozen or so be purchased for starters to see if they were effective.
