A diver involved in a recent rescue at Lydstep, which we reported upon in last week's issue, has asked us to clarify the details of the incident. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 13, when emergency services were called to two women divers with equipment problems in Lydstep Bay. They were out on a shore dive when one of them ran into difficulties with her buoyancy aid. The pair were around 200 metres from the shore when they surfaced and emergency services were alerted. Coastguard teams from Tenby and Manorbier, along with Tenby all-weather lifeboat and an RAF rescue helicopter were called to the scene. The women, who did not require medical attention, were aided to shore by a small fishing boat, which was in the vicinity when they surfaced.
