Sir,

I nearly wrote this letter two years ago, but thought I was just over-reacting and after I calmed down I decided to go home and forget about it.

I'm talking of course about the so called 'stag and hen parties' in the town on a Friday/Saturday night.

I've returned to my beloved Tenby for two weeks to peace, quiet and sightseeing. Well at least I can do some sightseeing!

I've come down with my family and my brother has returned for the first time in 30 years.

Once again we are all shocked at the intimidating atmosphere abound the town on a Friday/Saturday evening. Both my brother and I have spent the last 30 years at the sharp end of policing Merseyside and were looking forward to a more pleasant atmosphere in Tenby.

We were both upset at how the powers that be can let Tenby degenerate into a 'Wild West show' outside nearly every public house in the town. I refuse to go in any public house with 'bouncers' on the door. Why can't they keep their patrons inside the premises.

The behaviour of both lads and girls was disgraceful for a family seaside resort (drunkenness, spitting, swearing, fighting, state of undress, urinating in public, not to mention the probable damage to cars and property around the town).

I thought that after two years I might have found things had changed and my beloved Tenby had returned to normality, but sadly no. Can't the powers that be see what damage is being done to the public's perception of Tenby - it will be destroyed.

I'm afraid I will be going elsewhere next year and I don't think you will see my brother for another 30 years either!
