Sir, I would like to inform you that last season the Wales Disabled Cricket Team were finalists at the ECB County Championship Final, but unfortunately on this occasion were beaten by a very strong and competitive Lancashire County side. I would therefore like the chance to put matters right and go one step better next time out. My intention is therefore to strengthen the squad by attracting more players into the game who are playing in club cricket or wherever, but who have a disability regardless of the nature but who will qualify for classification into the sport.  We carry the full spectrum of disabilities in the squad, ranging from physical to learning difficulty and I would be very interested in finding out about players who have a hearing problem, as they all will qualify to play. I would like to hear from any players, male or female, who would like the chance to represent their country in the ECB County Championship and who would also like the chance to play in a selection of high profile representative matches over the coming 2009 season. If you could find your way into helping me put this message across to players in your area, I would be most grateful as I feel that we are about to launch into a new era regarding disabled cricket in Wales and how nice it would be for us to cement the foundations for a bright and successful future.   Paul Blackburn, Wales ECB Disability Cricket Team manager,  (Tel. 01952 273716 or 07962 382547).
