Sir, I am trying to trace some old friends of my mother (Glenys Cole) in order to make the forthcoming celebration of her 70th birthday a special one. Glenys spent a lot of her younger days with her aunt and uncle, Hilda and Bert Lewis, who lived for many years at Harbour Court, Tenby, later moving to 16 Augustus Place, Tenby. I remember playing on the landing at Harbour Court, where I also had a little bike. My mother attended primary school in Tenby, which would have been in the mid 1940s. Uncle Bert was second coxswain on Tenby lifeboat for a number of years and ran a boat back and forth to Caldey. I remember the Crockford family being heavily involved with the lifeboat at that time. Personally, I remember Charles Crockford, who was the engineer in my younger days. Another family I recall ran a gift shop on the corner near the Five Arches. I believe I called them Auntie Gwen and Uncle Sam. I think there were two boys in that family, one called Roger; I believe he had an arm injury. We hope to bring Mam down to Tenby sometime at the begining of June on the occasion of her 70th birthday. If anyone has any memories of Mam or would like to get in touch, would they please email contact numbers to me on [email protected]">[email protected]. Lindsay Rowlands
