A FORMER pupil of Tenby's Greenhill School has not only launched her own design label, but also made headlines in the current issue of the magazine Vogue.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Art, 33- year-old Sarah Lawrence, who hails from Stepaside, has worked with Lawrence Steele and Hugo Boss in Milan, and Thierry Mugler in Paris.

Most recently, she held the prestigious position of head designer at Julien Macdonald.

Now, she has launched her own collection. Sarah makes everything at her studio in north London, and her inspirations are vast and varied, from Japanese costume to '50s French couture, and even military uniform, past and present. Her collection also includes wool and cashmere capes, and tea dresses in polka-dot silk-chiffon and star-print satin-crepe.

Sarah is the daughter of Brenda Lawrence, of Kilgetty, and the late George Lawrence.
