Regular worshippers, along with visitors from Swansea and Essex, were greeted by Mr. Gerald Duffett at the door to join in worship. Mr. David Kinnard welcomed everyone, giving Family News including information about weekly meetings. The uplifting worship hymns and songs were played by the Music Group, with Mrs. Ann Pattenden on the keyboard, Tessa on the flute and Barbara on the clarinet. Mrs. Ann Pattenden led the time of Open Prayer, and after several prayers upon a variety of topics, all joined in with the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Maggie Vickery, before reading from Romans chapter 12, explained the role of the Baptist Association of Preachers Team and how they operate within Pembrokeshire. Mr. Phil Vickery (from Simpson Cross) preached about 'living sacrifices' in verse one. He linked that idea with its reality shown in the lives of two people he has met. He recommended that every fellowship must work as a team, appreciating each one's talents while seeking to make allowances for weaknesses we all possess. As a background, the Apostle Paul encouraged his readers to welcome all whom God calls and in Romans 9:25 he quoted from the prophet Hosea: "I will call them 'My people' who are not My people; and I will call her 'My loved one' who is not My loved one." Refreshments were served after the service, giving people the opportunity to chat informally. During school term time, the Parent-Toddler Group meets in the Church Hall each Thursday between 10 am and noon. Also the Prayer and Bible Study Meeting is held weekly each Friday starting at 7.30 pm. The speaker this Sunday is Mr. Keith Evans from Neath, who will be giving a visual presentation of work in a Ugandan orphanage.
