Despite the inclement weather, the numbers attending the service on Sunday morning were well up to average for the summer season.  Mrs. Jean Grimes welcomed them on entering the church.

The whole of the service was conducted by Mr. Keith Evans from Neath. Keith and his wife Pauline, being regular visitors to Deer Park, planned the service to suit the summer congregation.

Mrs. Helen Hills, together with help from some parents, led a separate activity for the many young people present. 

Keith choose the words of Jesus, 'I am the Way, the Truth and the Life', taken from John's Gospel, as a basis for his sermon.

Giving experiences from his own life as a Christian, Keith emphasised the important differences between being religious and having a personal relationship with Jesus.
