Last Sunday was a very special day for one person in the congregation and an important day for the church. Graham was baptised by full immersion in water. The pastor, Tom Torok, spoke about Cornelius and his meeting with Peter, an incident which occurred in the early church and recorded in the book of Acts. He reminded his listeners that 'God accepts men from every nation who fear him and do right' and the witness of Jesus who 'went about doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil'. The meeting concluded with Peter baptising Cornelius and the people with him. The early Jewish Christians had failed to understand that the gospel was for Gentiles as well as Jews. The door steward was Dene Hardwick, the worship leader was Mr. Kevin Adams, while Mrs. Sally Lloyd led the prayers. Prayers are especially asked for the forthcoming Youth Holiday Club during February half-term.
