Regular worshippers were joined by visitors from several parts of the country. These included members of the Open Air Mission who are holding events on the South Beach over the next fortnight. The theme of the service was built around the words found in Genesis, 'God created man in his own image'. The worship time included a simple drama, which illustrated, using a mirror and a hammer, how God's original image in man had been distorted by sin.

Prayers were led by Mrs. Sally Lloyd, with thoughts being directed to the situation in the Middle East. The sermon was preached by the pastor, Tom Torok, who emphasised that knowledge of our origins matters because they give shape to our identity. The picture being that we as Christians are to reflect in our lives the original image of God. This was why Jesus came to restore in a fuller measure God's image in us, because our lives reflect a broken image.

This thought is made clear in the translation from the Message of Paul's words in Romans, 'God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son'.

During the school holidays, on every Thursday from 10 am, a tabletop sale and coffee morning in aid of a Ugandan orphanage will be held in the church hall. The Sunday morning service is held at 10.45 am.
