Former Carew cricketer Wayne Harries died suddenly earlier this week, after returning home following a game of golf.

Mr. Harries was well known in Pembrokeshire and Welsh cricket and rugby circles. As well as playing cricket for Carew, the retired Fishguard school teacher played for Gowerton, Neyland and Fishguard.

His twin sons, Adrian and Andrew, also played for Cresselly for a couple of seasons.

At the time of going to press, the funeral arrangements were not known.
