The Welsh Spiritual Connextions awards ceremony is being held tomorrow (Saturday) at the De Valence, Tenby, at 7 pm.

Award ceremonies are increasing in status - everyone deserves recognition what ever field of work. However, there is little acclaim and respect to those who work industriously in the holistic, paranormal and spiritual genre.

So with this is mind, Rosemary Griffiths, of the Preseli School of Healing, Haverfordwest, approached Richard Blair, managing director of Spiritual ConneXtions and asked to run the regional Welsh awards, with the winners gaining automatic entrance into the national acknowledgement awards in Portsmouth on September 5.

The event is raising money for Missing Wales, a charity dedicated to helping missing people, their families and those who care for them to bring hope comfort and support.

Janet Williams, appeals manager for the charity, said: "These awards are going to promote vision into alternative therapies and spiritualisation, while raising money for the charity." So, what can one expect on the actual award ceremony evening?

In a nutshell - de rigueur black tie 'do'. The evening event is limited to a maximum of 200 seats (all seated around tables with complimentary drinks and canapés) and, inevitably, tickets are selling fast for members of the public to attend this first ever such ceremony.

Meanwhile, during the day-time, an holistic fayre has been organised, and Rosemary says it will be brimming with over 30 stalls, live broadcasting, media presence and welcoming respected spiritual professionals, committed to hosting fascinating workshops, chairing enlightening, educational talks, performing innovative demonstrations and, of course, signing books and simply saying 'hello' to one and all, let alone the stallholders, readers, aroma-therapist, healers and many more.

Rosemary said: "We hope that everyone - even if only dipping the toe into this magnificent spiritual world - will get behind us on this project and pledge support. Whether they be spiritual organisations, churches, private businesses or simply individuals, please help us to make this day something to remember, an event to treasure and the sort of success story that everyone will want to put in their diary every year - something to cherish and something of true spiritual value to celebrate our way of living."
