Any new-build at Tenby's De Valence Pavilion will not be starting until October 2004, members of Tenby Town Council were told on Tuesday night.
A major re-vamp of the pavilion is being planned, with a team of architects having been appointed to come up with a feasibility study as to how the building - which the town council plan to hand over to a not-for-profit trust in April - can serve the community's needs in the 21st century.
Speaking at Tuesday's meeting of the council, the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, said a full update on the progress of the plans would be made to members at their meeting on March 4.
However, the date of any new-build, originally planned to start in January next year, had now been put back to the October.
This would, said Clr. Mrs. Brown, enable the pavilion to be open for two summer seasons, before the build, and it would remain available for bookings until this time.
On March 13, there would also be a joint partnership meeting in the De Valence when the architects would discuss the progress of their feasibility study. Starting at 8 pm, this would be open to the public.
