Sir, I was saddened and dismayed to discover that a perfectly healthy holly tree, situated in a council owned garden, near the zebra crossing and access steps to the North Beach, has been quite deliberately poisoned, by means of foreign objects being driven into the tree trunk base. I wonder by whom? Perhaps a grudge, perhaps to improve sight-lines. I hope whoever took it upon themselves to carry out such a dastardly deed, is found out and and suitably punished.
Trevor Hallett, Tenby. PS. I shall be removing the foreign objects and the tree will be monitored. The National Park tree officer has been informed!
