Sir,
I would like to add my concern to that of Clr. Mrs. Kerri Durham regarding the new, so-called 'enhancement' in Tenby (opposite Barclays Bank). The block road and fancy paving, without any kerbs, will be lethal for mothers with young children and prams, the elderly and disabled and especially the blind.
I was walking on the new paving with a friend when a car almost hit me. The car came on to the paved area because a vehicle was parked on the opposite side and another car was going out of town. My friend actually pulled me aside and shouted "look out." I was quite shaken.
This particular spot is where the paved area narrows and the building juts out. There are no bollards here, as they are further down the road where the pavement is much wider.
In my opinion, it is a very dangerous idea to have taken away the kerbstones, which allows traffic to move very close to the buildings.
It may look very pretty, but I urge the council to look very carefully at this particular spot, before a serious accident happens.
Gerry Brutnell (Mrs), Saundersfoot.
