The very popular blue bench in Narberth's High Street has had a makeover, courtesy of Czech English language student Jan Denemark who lives in the town. The bench was installed at its current location in July 2000 after being designed by local youth groups and made by Dave Petersen, of St. Clears. Span Arts, of Narberth, commissioned the bench and provided the finances as a community project for the town. The bench has become very popular with locals and visitors alike as local landmarks of the town are incorporated into the design.

Declan Connelly, co-ordinator of Span Arts, and County Councillor Wynne Evans look on as volunteer helper Jan Denemark gives the bench a makeover.
