The Deputy Mayor of Tenby has said that members of the Tenby Aces Cycle Club are gearing up well for a gruelling cycle ride to Cardiff and back later this month to raise funds for the Armed Forces charity, Help for Heroes.

The 200-plus mile round trip will see the Aces leave Tenby during the early hours of National Armed Forces Day, Saturday, June 27, aiming to arrive at the capital's Sophia Gardens by lunchtime.

"I've received an email from Gareth Rees, of the Aces, who revealed that all plans were coming together well for the big day, and that the whole of the town are set to make a fantastic contribution to the occasion," said Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans, at a meeting of Tenby town council on Tuesday.

"The cyclists are sure to get a great welcome back into Tenby, with the Scouts, Guides, ATC and Fire Brigade also possibly set to be part of the contingent that greets them home," she added.
