Congratulations to the Worley brothers from St. Florence who recently completed the C 2 C cycle challenge. Dan, 14, Oliver, 11, and Joe, 10, cycled 154 miles across the width of the UK and raised over £450 for Sport Relief. Their parents, Mark and Anna, accompanied them and helped to carry their equipment as the family camped along the way. Said Anna this week: "We are so proud of the boys for succeeding in their challenge. They negotiated two of the country's main mountain ranges (climbing up to 1,998 feet), a major city and linked the Irish and North Seas, all on bicycles! "The scenery along the route was fantastic, as was the local hospitality - one campsite owner even donated back the campsite fee to the boys for their chosen charity! "The weather was mixed, from sunshine through to torrential rain, as well as thick mist, but spirits remained high throughout and the sense of achievement felt when passing the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, then rolling down the slipway to dip our wheels in the North Sea was something we will never forget. It was a truly memorable journey and a big thank you goes out to all who sponsored the boys."
