AFTER nine years as custodian and welcoming many thousands of visitors to the Tudor Merchant's House (one of Tenby's most popular visitor attractions), Alyson Bush has retired.
Staff and volunteers held a coffee morning last week and presented her with a specially made pottery model of the house as a lasting reminder of her work.
Visitor services manager Sue Hicks, presenting Alyson with the gift and flowers, thanked her for her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.
There's been a special emotional attachment for Alyson as she's worked at Tudor Merchant's House first as a house steward, then custodian, because her great-grandmother was a tenant at the house in the 1800s when the building was divided into flats.
Alyson commented: "I never knew my great-grandmother, but my father said she would have found it amusing that I've shown so many people round her former home."
