Leading cricket coach Nick Evans was guest at a reception in County Hall, Haverfordwest, last Thursday evening.

Nick from Narberth has been described as a ‘pioneer’ in his field and his 40 years service to the game was marked with a community lifetime achievement award at the Wales Sports Awards in Cardiff recently.

Now 76, he still dedicates his time to playing, coaching and administering cricket in Pembrokeshire. He was also responsible for the development of women’s cricket - not just locally, but throughout Wales.

The reception was hosted by Pembrokeshire County Council chairman, Tony Brinsden, who is pictured with Nick and his Wales Sport Award.
