Calling all coaches: The annual general meeting of the Pembrokeshire Association of Cricket Coaches takes place next Tuesday, November 20, at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, starting at 7.30 pm. There are a number of important decisions to be made and all coaches are encouraged to attend what should be a very interesting meeting.
Mark Frost, the director of cricket at the Cricket Board of Wales, as well as leading officers of the Pembroke County Cricket Club, will be present.
In addition to the above meeting, and in response to coaches' requests, a wicket-keeping seminar has been arranged for the evening of Thursday, November 22, at Thornton Hall, Milford Haven.
The tutor will be Colin Metson, the former Glamorgan county and current Wales wicket-keeper and captain. Between 6 and 7.30 pm, Colin will be working with young invited Pembrokeshire wicket-keepers from the various county squads, with the coaches 'looking on'. From 7.30 to 9 pm, the coaches will replace the children and have a 'master class' with Colin.
Unfortunately, there will be a cost to coaches of £7, but for those who want to strengthen their coaching skills in what for many is a very 'grey area', this will be money well spent with a truly master-craftsman.
Please advise the secretary, Ray Kane, on 01646 682106, as soon as possible, to book a place on the course.
