There was a full house at each of the craft workshops at Pembrokeshire College's stand at the County Show, providing opportunities for the whole family to get involved in learning new skills.
Jamie and Rhys Thomas, supported by their parents Tracey and Mike from Canaston Bridge, enjoyed making gift cards under the tuition of Sue Rees. For those interested in sugar craft, Gill Pearce helped learners make marzipan pigs and sugar icing sheep. Recycling was the focus on the second day of the show, with summer sandals made from newspaper designed by Jackie Rodea. All workshops were delivered by PET Project tutors, who provide community based courses for adults at a wide variety of venues, including Clynderwen, Bloomfield in Narberth, Monkton and Pennar. A full list of courses is available at http://www.pembrokeshire.ac.uk/community">www.pembrokeshire.ac.uk/community or call Emma on 01437 753139 for further information.
All courses are free and aimed at adults of any ages who are not working. Supported childcare is also available for busy mums. The Pet Project is an ESF funded project offered by Pembrokeshire College which aims to reduce the barriers to learning.
