On a cold and wet May Day Bank Holiday Monday, coach Matthew Price took a squad of 10 Haverfordwest County under 13s to compete in the Aberaeron Football Festival.

The boys, including five from Tenby and one from the Narberth area, played exceptionally well during the group stages, winning four games and keeping four clean sheets and losing only one game.

There were over 20 sides in the competition and Haverfordwest went on to win their quarter-final game against Lampeter and semi-final against Llanilar, which led them into the final against a strong Bow Street team.

In the final, Haverfordwest went ahead 1-0, but Bow St reet equalised and with a minute to go scored the winner. leaving Haverfordwest as tournament runners-up, with each player receiving a well-deserved trophy for their efforts.

Well done to coach Matthew Price and the team who played some great football during the day.
