The countdown is on to a charity ball which aims to raise a substantial amount of money for Cancer Research UK. A whole host of top celebrity names - including Kylie Minogue, actress Zoe Wanamaker and boxer Sugar Ray Leonard - are supporting the event and just a few of the items already received for an auction for 'things that money can't buy' include: • A signed CD of a special recording of 'Somewhere over the rainbow' from Kylie • A signed script of the hit TV series, 'My Family' from Zoe • A boxing glove signed by Sugar Ray • Two Paul McKenna NLP training sessions • Champagne breakfast on board a racing yacht during next year's Cowes Week • Two tickets and backstage pass for the English National Ballet. The ball is the brainchild of Matthew Evans, managing director of Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. "As we celebrate 25 years in business, we wanted to do something memorable which would be fun, but which would also benefit the wider community," he said. "We had a vote in the office as to which charity we should support and the outright winner was Cancer Research UK. "Tickets are now on sale and we hope that as many people as possible will join us for what should be a memorable evening and a major fund-raiser for Cancer Research." The black-tie ball takes place on November 2 at the De Valence Pavilion in Tenby and includes champagne, four-course meal, the 'money can't buy' auction, prize draw, music, dancing and entertainment.
