Pembrokeshire County Council have written to Tenby Town Council to notify them of an application by the owners of the town's Royal Lion Hotel for the provision of 'tourist directional signs' for the premises. "Should the facility qualify for the signage, the applicant has requested signing from the junction of Narberth Road and The Maudlins," explained the county council's traffic manager, John Price, in a letter that came before town councillors at their meeting on Tuesday evening. Town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, reminded members what their stance was on previous applications from premises in the town with regard to directional signs, with councillors voting against the proposals, preferring generic signs rather than individual for fear of cluttering the town. "While the town council continues to support Tenby's hotels and guest houses, we feel that generic signs benefit the town as a whole," commented Clr. Mike Evans.
