Councillors of a Carmarthenshire town have been asked to look into why a number of post boxes are being closed and taped up.

At January’s meeting of Whitland Town Council, members were asked to consider correspondence received relating to the removal/closure of post boxes within the town.

Members heard that several emails had been received by the Town Council, raising concerns regarding the number of post boxes were just being left taped up and looking unkempt.

The Clerk is to request information relating as to why these are being closed and just being left in situ, especially with a large number of new properties planned to be built in the area.
