A Saundersfoot county councillor has said that he is disappointed with the level of police presence around the seaside village over the busy summer season.
Cllr Chris Williams who represents the south ward, said that he’d conducted a zoom meeting recently with Chief Inspector Craig Templeton, to not only discuss the closing of Saundersfoot Police Station, but also the smaller stations around Pembrokeshire.
“In reality, Saundersfoot Police Station has functioned as a fully supported station for many years with support coming from Tenby Station,” remarked Cllr Williams.
“With the sale of the station I do hope that more resources will be put into having officers on the beat.
“They are fully committed to policing in the community and they feel that they want officers to be more visible in the towns and villages.
“There haven’t been many days this summer that I have seen officers walking around the village.
“There definitely needs a far greater presence during the busy times,” he added.
