Sir, I am a member of Tenby Walled Town Residents' Association and would like to respond to some councillors' criticism of the association reported in last week's Observer. The association has never tried to represent the whole town and is trying to support the Town Council, rather than oppose it, when highlighting issues raised by their members. For years the council said that not enough was being done by the public to discuss issues. They should welcome the input and remind themselves that they have two town councillors on the TWTRA committee. TWTRA brings the attention of the council to local issues affecting those within the town walls. They have open meetings and a newsletter. Recently they have put the spotlight on the issues of the CCTV pole in the harbour, which had been refused planning consent, and the possible move of waste facilities from the Salterns. They should be encouraged.
Alan Mace, Tenby.
