Sir,
I feel compelled to write this letter, as I am finally convinced that Pembrokeshire County Council are not fit for purpose. Eight months ago they proposed building the new Tenby Dump NEXT to a 40-bedded nursing home. After huge protests, both locally and nationally, including a 4,816 signature petition, they agreed to further reviews and assessments.
And then, surprise, surprise, we found out this week that they intend to proceed with the application and have submitted a planning application to the Pembrokeshire Coast Natonal Park Authority.
Do the powers that be care about the feelings of the people of Pembrokeshire? I suggest not. Are they competent to run the county, spending vast sums of your money. Their recent record in both education, health and social care would suggest NO.
Finally to attempt to build an industrial complex next to Brooklands Nursing Home - hands up if you think it is a good idea.
While I am happy to admit there are some excellent local councillors, there are others who I suggest should not be in office.
If like me you feel angry and let down by your council and would like to help the residents of Brooklands Home prevent the siting of the new Tenby Tip next door to them, please write to: Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Headquarters, Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6DY.
And do not forget, you voted them in. You can vote them out.
Mike Bridge,
Registered manager.
PS. We are holding a protest session every Friday, 2 - 3 pm, outside Brooklands Home. Volunteers are most welcome to join us, with free tea/coffee and biscuits served after. We would be grateful for anyone's support.
