Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, paid tribute to several people for their services to the town, the town council and to charity this week.

At a quarterly meeting of Tenby Town Council on Tuesday, Clr. Mrs. Brown presented a Tenby town medallion to Mrs. Joan Osborne, chair of the local branch of Tenovus, for all her work for the charity over the years, while Mr. Jack Davies was honoured for his contribution to Tenby Civic Society, in particular his many years as chairman.

Observer reporter Andrew Davies was presented with a medallion for his "fair and accurate coverage of council meetings over the years," while the Evergreen Nomads were presented with a town plaque for all their hard work fund-raising for local charities.

Clr. Mrs. Brown also took the opportunity to thank representatives of Tenby 2020 for their continued commitment to the regeneration of the town.

She also warmly welcomed representatives of 12 Regiment, Royal Artillery, currently on training exercise at Penally.

"We have long enjoyed the friendship of the armed forces here in Tenby, particularly the Royal Artillery," she said. "Long may it continue."
