Re-surfacing of Jesse Road
Contrary to a report on our front page last week, resurfacing of Narberth's Jesse Road will not be taking place in the near future.
That's because there's no funding for it, County Councillor Elwyn Morse told members of the town council this week.
However, the project was in the top three schemes in the county to be undertaken when money was available from the Welsh Assembly.
Although no timescale had been given, Clr. Morse, who represents the Narberth Rural ward on Pembrokshire County Council, said he would continue to press for action.
Meanwhile, he is also calling for the county council's area maintainence department to repair and fill in potholes along that stretch of road.
School goes bananas!

Warning signs
Vehicle-activated signs are be erected outside Narberth's new primary school warning motorists to keep to the 30 mph limit.
County Councillor Elwyn Morse said that the matter would be closely monitored and, if necessary, further traffic calming measures considered.
Clr. Morse, who represents the town's rural ward on Pembrokeshire County Council, had also requested that the stretch of road be used to pilot a 20 mph speed limit, but had been told that it posed problems because it was a main A road.
Clr. Morse also congratulated the PTA and governors who had collected 600 signatures on a petition which had been handed to Pembrokeshire County Council and had drawn attention to the issue.
County Councillor praised
Former Mayor of Narberth, Clr. Colin Williams thanked and praised County Councillor Elwyn Morse, who represents the rural ward, for his work on campaigning for improvements to be made outside the town's new primary school in Jesse Road at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
