A town councillor wants a no tolerance stance to be taken on 'illegal signage' being erected in Tenby to promote events.

Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council that she felt the tags that were left on lamp-posts throughout the town after posters and signs were taken down could prove dangerous to young children.

"They're quite sharp and a child could hurt themselves on them," she said. "While the people responsible are quite happy to put these illegal signs up, they have no interest in removing the offending tags later on."

On another note, Clr. Mrs. Trisha Putwain was still concerned that nothing had been done regarding the old notices that were displayed on lamp-posts in the town that had been painted around and were still in place even though out of date.

Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane agreed that a letter should go to Pembrokeshire County Council regarding the matter.
