Chris retains Christmas title

Last Friday saw the annual 'Glyn Williams' Memorial Christmas singles take place at the RFC. Due to the weather, the numbers were down a bit, with 39 entries (would have been a few more if some players turned up on time) - five minutes after the draw was made (could have phoned).

Anyway back to the night, losing quarter-finalists were Nigel Thomas (RAOB A), Paul Farr (Parcy A), Sarina Edwards (Ivy Bush B) and Dan Hughes (Alpha A).

Losing semi-finalists were Martin Thomas (Parcy A) and Richard Lewis (Whit RFC).

Runner-was Stuart Hughes (Parcy A), with the eventual winner, by 3-1, Chris Jenkins (Parcy A), finishing the last leg with a superb 12-darter.

Other achievements on the night saw Chris also hit 2 x 20 darts and 180, Martin Thomas 180, Nigel Thomas 21, Steve Pallas (RAOB A) 18, Gavin James (RAOB A) 16 and 180, Kim Llewellyn (Parcy A) 180, Steve Poole (RAOB A) 20 and Melanie Pallas (RAOB A) 108 out.

Many thanks to the staff of the RFC, Wyn and Colin for running the tournament and Richard Morris for the boards.

Next action in the league takes place on Friday, January 7, with the 1001 knockout.

Until then, wishing all players a very happy Christmas.
