The Angel looked to the heavens and their prayers were answered, and so it came to be as the Narberth side managed to squeeze in their re-arranged match at home to the Farmers, chalking up a 9-0 win. This left the points all square with the Taf going into the final match and nothing less than matching the Whitland side's score would do. And the Taf pulled off a good away win at the Angel Llan by 7-2. Meanwhile, back in Narberth, the Angel were leading the RAOB A by 6-1 and just managed to take the last two legs to take the league by the one single point. Although, after taking both matches against the Taf, they just about deserved it (well done).
Meanwhile, the Parcylan A finished a close third, just behind the top two, after their 7-2 win at the Farmers, while the Stanley Arms A pulled off a rare win at Lawrenny.
The B League saw the Bush Robeston taking the points at Parcylan B and along with it the coveted title of champions. The RFC Otters had to pluck a win out of the air as they went 3-0 and 4-3 down at the Dragon, only to take the last two legs, although they were quite safely placed in runners-up spot.
The RAOB B finished in third place, although they lost at home to the Plash, while the Alpha finished a decent fourth after an away win at the Stanley B, and if they keep the same team next year could well be pushing for promotion.
Sadly, the Glandy v Angel Narberth B sheet didn't get through in time for the report.
Achievements on the night came from Gavin James (Angel Narberth A) 21 darts, Sarina Edwards (Angel Narberth A) 16 darts, Mark Wood (Angel Narberth A) 20 darts, Neil Jolly (Stanley A) 180, Peter James (RFC) 180, Jeff Jones (RAOB B) 21 darts and Ray Spencer (Taf) 180.
And it's congratulations to Ray who became top player of the season in the A League, while the B League top player went to Dai Rees (Bush Robeston) (a full list of the top players will be printed next week when all the result sheets come in).
