Last Friday saw the annual 'Glyn Williams Memorial' Christmas Singles Knockout take place at the RFC. And with an excellent turnout of 54 entries, there were some good darts on show. Losing quarter-finalists were Simon Marklew (Angel Llan), Adam Kelly (Parcylan A), Aaron Redburn (Taf) and Mark Wood (Angel Narberth). Losing semi- finalists were Kevin John (Ivy Bush) and Gavin James (RFC A). The final saw the familiar sight of Jeff Jones (RFC A) taking on Chris Jenkins (Taf), and with finishes of 17, 18 and 19 darts, it was Chris who took the match 3-0. Other achievements on the night came from Steve Poole (Angel Narberth) 114 out, Adam Kelly 180 and 20 darts, Simon Marklew 110 and 18 and 14 darters, Jason Jones (Taf) 180, Gavin James 18 darts, Jeff Jones 180 and 20, 18, 17 and a 14 darters and Chris Jenkins also hit two x 180, two x 18 darts, 16 darts and 115 and 110 outs. Also on the night, the Christmas raffle took place, prizes were as follows: bottle of Cognac (Peter Pearce), bottle of whisky (Cheryl Jolly), bottle of whisky (Joanne Davies), bottle of vodka (Neil Jolly), bottle of Champagne (Lena Jones), bottle of Bacardi (Jason Nicholas), cans of lager (Neil Jolly), cans of Guinness (Mr. Foot), cans of bitter (Steve Edmonds), cans of Strongbow (Mark Bluestone), bottle of gin (Glyndwr Thomas), meat voucher (Richard Mathias), meat voucher (Arwyn Bowen), bottles of lager (Farmers), bottle of wine (Wyn Phillips), bottle of Chardonay (Cliff Kilby), bottle of Vermouth (Val Owen), four WKD's (Tony Rogers), chocolate liquers (Nick Hartless), Ferrero Roche (Rachel Murphy), bottle of Cava (Gavin James) and a bottle of wine (Peter Pearce). Many thanks to Richard Morris for setting the boards up (even though he wasn't well), the staff of the RFC, Serena for selling the extra tickets and Wyn and Colin for the draw. All teams are reminded that tonight (Friday), the 1001 Knockout takes place at the RFC. All teams are asked to be there to start by 8.30 pm.
