LAST year Pembrokeshire College launched an innovative scheme in Tenby in an attempt to bridge the shortage of trained chefs in Pembrokeshire.
The course proved to be a success and the college will be offering the course again in Tenby.
The aim of the course is to provide realistic training and a recognised national qualification for anyone thinking of retraining or entering the catering industry. Work experience and assistance in gaining full-time employment will also be provided. Candidates who pass the course will have a place reserved for them on the NVQ Level II Food Preparation Course at the college starting next September.
Mrs. Lesley Fisher, of Tenby House Hotel, has agreed to the use of her Paxtons Bistro as the training venue for candidates.
Frank Shortt, of the college Learning @ Work team will be holding interviews at Tenby Job Centre. Anyone interested in the course should contact the staff at Tenby Job Centre by telephoning (01834) 803700.
