TENBY UTD YOUTH 39 pts
NARBERTH YOUTH 0
Tenby Youth had a convincing win over Narberth Youth for the first time in two seasons.
Tenby went on the attack from the first whistle, putting pressure on Narberth straightaway, resulting in a penalty, which was successfully kicked by Thomas Lewis.
From the restart, Tenby resumed the attack and some excellent interplay between both forwards and backs resulted in captain Robert James crashing over near the posts for an excellent try. Thomas Lewis kicked the conversion.
Tenby kept up the pressure for the rest of the first-half with quite an impressive display of rugby, resulting in first Harry Bolton, and then Barry Wolverson scoring two more tries for, one of which was converted by Lewis. Half-time score 22-0.
The second-half began with Tenby again on the attack, but the half-time talk resulted in Narberth showing more determination with their tackles, and they perhaps could have scored but for some fine defensive play by the Seasiders.
Tenby then seemed to get their game together again and a fine try was scored by Andrew (Mozzer) Dennis, which went unconverted.
Shortly after the restart, Mark Heywood joined the list of scorers with a powerful lunge over the line. Another move involving Thomas Lewis, passing to the inside centre and a loop pass, gave the fullback the chance to run into the gap at pace and score an excellent try under the posts - well done Mark Stevens.
Lewis converted, giving a final score of Tenby Youth 39 Narberth 0.
Well done Tenby Youth for the hard work in training and commitment shown during the first-half of the season. Thanks also go to Gareth Thomas and Chris Evans for their coaching input, and also Colwyn Harts for his help with the forwards - not forgetting Bob James for his invaluable work as team manager and Lynn Rees, coach.
