Wednesday, April 12, saw the Quaynotes mixed choir performing an Easter concert at the Congregational Church, Saundersfoot. The evening, which sadly was very poorly supported, consisted of songs from the shows and a selection of sacred music, with the choir, although made very welcome by Paster Pete Morgan and his congregation, not at their best, probably due in part to the poor attendance and subdued atmosphere. In complete contrast, the choir were given a wonderful reception by a packed house on Saturday night at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby. The evening, already going well, was brought to life by a quite wonderful performance of songs from Fiddler on the Roof by soloists Val Evans and Colin Clarke, which had people in the audience commenting that they had not heard better on the West End stage. The choir will be taking a short break before preparing for their next concert at St. John's, Pembroke, on Friday, May 19, in aid of 'Friends of South Pembs. Hospital'.
