Sir,
There are two items of news which to this writer are conspicuous by their absence.
First, the fuel protesters. Six years ago, when fuel was knocking on 80p per litre, they caused all kinds of disruption to all and sundry with their blockading and go slows around the country.
Today, fuel is 99.9p per litre, or more, depending where you are in the country.
So why, when fuel now costs 25 per cent more than six years ago, are the same people conspicuous by their silence?
Secondly, I refer to the Bluestone Project, much hyped and covered in the local press. Since winning their battle to get this project passed, we now have silence.
I've been so looking forward to seeing Welsh Secretary Mr. Peter Hain MP lift the first ceremonial sod of earth to start the project or even First Minister Mr. Rhodri Morgan AM lay the first ceremonial brick, but alas Bluestone is also conspicuous by its silence.
Has the project stumbled at the final hurdle?
Mr. I. L. Williams, Cold Blow, Narberth.
