The importance of community was the theme of BBC newsreader, Gary Owen, as guest speaker at the annual general meeting of PLANED, Pembrokeshire Local Action Network for Enterprise and Development.

The AGM took place at Picton Castle and Gary Owen entertained the packed meeting with anecdotes about his life in front of the camera.

More than 70 people heard about how his experience of growing up in a tight-knit community and taking part in eisteddfodau had given him the confidence that he now needs in his BBC job.

He is pictured with the chair of PLANED, Helen Scourfield and vice-chair, Robin Mogg.
