ON July 18, two members of the Narberth Castle Lodge received recognition for their 50 years membership of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB): one of the Order’s greatest honours.

The presentation was carried out in front of family and friends by Bro Stewart Roger Taylor ROH, Grand Chamberlain of the RAOB in 1998.

The recognition was conferred on Bro Gerald Hugh Rogers ROH who joined the order in the Enterprise Lodge 7893 in Kilgetty in 1969 and Bro Anthony William Palmer ROH who joined the Narberth Castle Lodge in 1976.

Both Brothers have served as Provincial Grand Primo of the South Pembrokeshire Province, President of the Examining Council, President of the South Pembrokeshire Knights Chapter No 67 and President of the Pembrokeshire ROH Assembly No 86.

Both Brothers are still active in the activities of the RAOB with Bro Gerald being a Trustee of PGL and an active member of the Narberth Castle Lodge 7166. In his spare time he does a lot for charity and until recently assisted Father Christmas by going around the local schools and care homes in the run up to Christmas providing joy to many.

Bro Anthony is the Secretary of Narberth Castle Lodge 7166, the South Pembrokeshire Provincial Grand Lodge and the Pembrokeshire ROH Assembly No 86 and Treasurer of the South Wales Provinces RAOB.

Bro Anthony has previously received one of the highest honours in the RAOB: in 1998 he was elected as the Grand Registrar.
