Routes to Discovery joined up with Cllr Michele Wiggins recently for one of her community litter picks in Pembroke Dock. There was a great turnout and around 12 full sacks were collected, weighing in at over 40kg!

Routes to Discovery is a people-led project, which is all about the restorative powers of Pembrokeshire’s outdoors and especially its National Park.

“Thank you to everyone who came along,” said a spokesperson for the project, “and to Michele for inviting us, always lovely to see you, and great to help out in the community too!”

Routes to Discovery is for young carers, young people, unpaid carers; for people whose mobility reduces opportunities for them to benefit from time spent accessing the outdoors. It’s for people who identify as having poor mental health too, and for anyone who would like to experience the wellbeing benefits of time spent outdoors.

The activities are designed to be accessible, fun and relaxing, with the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people.

Newcomers are very welcome. For more information, email [email protected] or call 07943 186630.
