ALL are welcome to join Pembroke and Monkton Local History Society for an engaging talk about the new Henry Tudor Centre on Saturday, November 7 at Pembroke Town Hall.

Due to open in spring 2027, the Henry Tudor Centre will bring to life the story of Henry Tudor, son of Pembroke, highlighting his Welsh ancestry and enduring impact on Welsh and British heritage. His rise to power established the Tudor dynasty, one of the most influential in British history.

The coffee morning and talk is an opportunity to ask questions and view the plans for the centre.

As well as having a sneak peek at the latest designs and discover how the Centre’s story and interpretation are taking shape, the society will introduce attendees to Henry Tudor Trust’s Community Programmes Officer and Tudor expert, Dr Samantha Nelson, who will share her insights into the planned activities and volunteering opportunities at the Henry Tudor Centre. As part of her introductions, Samantha will also give a short talk on her research and forthcoming book on Tudor women and war with Yale University Press.

The capital project has been funded by the Welsh Government, UK Government, The National Lottery Heritage Programme and Pembrokeshire County Council.

Doors open at 10am for the coffee morning, followed by the presentation at 11am.

Pembroke Museum and the Council Chamber, both situated on the first floor of the Town Hall, will also be open to visitors. A lift is available for disabled access. Please note that this will be the final opportunity to visit the museum this year before it closes for the winter season from November until February.

Everyone is welcome to attend Pembroke and Monkton Local History Society events and admission is free. Proceeds from the Coffee Morning and raffle help to cover the Society's running costs.

Also taking place in November is Pembroke Castle’s amazing Christmas Market, from Friday to Sunday, November 27 to 29. As always, the history society will be running a stall, so do go along and say hello.
