Neyland Carnival draws crowds with colourful parade and costumes

HELD on a hot and sunny Saturday, July 11, Neyland Carnival was well supported and made for a fantastic day.

The organisers are thankful to all who entered the parade and to all the spectators who lined the streets to watch the spectacle.

The parade featured several floats, as well as fancy dress walking entries including a Predator costume, eighties-themed costumes and a full complement of Teletubbies!

The carnival celebrations continued after the parade with entertainment and family attractions.

The carnival committee is also grateful to many local individuals and businesses that helped them to make the day as special as it was:

- Audrey John for donating fabric to help decorate the prince and princess float;

- Neyland RFC for use of their pitch and to the junior section for helping with the clean up;

- The Hub and their staff for hosting and supporting the carnival;

- Sinclair Neyland for use of their vehicle for the king and queen of the town, along with driver John Gidman;

- Green light traffic management for their vehicles and support with traffic control;

- Valero volunteers for their support during the day, along with all other volunteers that helped with traffic control and helped on the gates;

Children from Neyland Community School had a whole lot of fun with their School of Rock-themed float - singing, dancing and playing plenty of air guitar. The school gave credit to Wayne and Jez from EPS Events LTD for the amazing sound, lights, smoke, bubbles and music. They rocked!

Tenby’s Feileacan School of Irish Dance said they had the BEST day, with their first ever float in Neyland Carnival.
