NEYLAND’S badminton group is seeking new players to join friendly sessions at The Community Hub. The group offers a welcoming environment and a chance to improve fitness and skills every Tuesday.

After a successful year, the group has seen its membership grow from just a handful of players to more than a dozen. The group is part of Pembrokeshire U3A, and more details can be found on their website at www.pembrokeshireu3a.org.uk .

It’s a friendly group of people with a mixed bunch of expertise consisting of members who have never played badminton before to those who have come back after not playing for years.

Help and support is given to new beginners and members say it’s amazing to see just how accomplished and confident they become over the following weeks.

The new players say that they felt very welcomed, enjoying the games, the banter and friendliness that the group offers, and of course the pleasant Hub venue facilities are appreciated too.

As a U3A group, the importance of creating a welcoming safe, pleasant learning environment, where members can have fun and enjoy their experience, is understood. It is also a great way to improve personal fitness levels and a lot of fun.

Badminton sessions are held every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm. Rackets are provided if you do not have one and the first session is free.

After the first week, there will be a minimal weekly charge per session to cover the hire costs but this also includes a free refreshment break, so why not go along and give it a try?

Further details can be found either in the U3A website or contact Anne 07522 128480, otherwise feel free to just turn up on the day.
